I teach courses in the Department of Spanish, Latin American, and Latinx Studies and the Linguistics program, such as Introduction to Spanish Linguistics, Spanish in the US, Bilingualism, and Spanish for Heritage Speakers. My research interests focus on second language interactional competence and pragmatics. I also have interests in other areas of applied linguistics, including linguistic (im)politeness, intercultural communication, and heritage and second language pedagogy.
