Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ the Symposium

The First Annual Student Humanities and Social Sciences Symposium was established in 1996 to highlight students' original research projects. In 1999, it was renamed in memory of Richard A. Harrison (dean and faculty of Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ from 1992 to 1997). Harrison was a staunch advocate of liberal education and a strong proponent of collaborative research projects involving students and faculty mentors. He was instrumental in conceiving and launching the symposium.Â
